Shoalhaven Tourism Statistics

South Coast NSWTourism statistics published by Tourism Research Australia show that the Shoalhaven and Jervis Bay Territory continue to maintain a dominant position in Regional Tourism NSW.

On the national scene the Shoalhaven ranks as the 3rd most visited regional Local Government area in Australia behind the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.

In the financial year ended 30th June 2011 the Shoalhaven received 1,232,000 domestic visitors recording 4,217,000 visitor nights.  This is an increase of 11% over the 12 month period ended 30th June 2010.

For comparison purposes the South Coast Region (Helensburgh to the Victorian border) recorded 2,914,000 visitors who spent 10,362,000 visitor nights; an increase of 3%.

Mainland Regional NSW recorded 17,000,000 visitors who stayed 59,372,000 nights; an increase of 3%.  Whilst NSW as a whole recorded 24,106,000 visitors recording 81,000,000 visitor nights; an increase of 5%.
