Renowned crocodile hunter Steve Irwin took delivery of 3 pure bred Sumatran Tiger cubs on Tuesday 27 April 2004, born at the fabulous Mogo Zoo on the South Coast NSW.

Steve collected Archie, Jughead and Veronica from Mogo Zoo in front of huge crowd and fans. The cubs themselves only made a brief appearance before their trip up north to the Australia Zoo.

The success of the endangered Sumatran Tigers breeding program at Mogo Zoo has prompted owners Sally and Bill Padey to expand their breeding program in a new agreement between the two premiere private zoos in Australia.

Donating the three cubs to Australia Zoo is the start of a new era of co-operation to ensure the future of the Sumatran Tiger in captivity. This endangered species numbers as few as 400 in the world - so these cubs are literally priceless.

The cubs parents Maloo and Larry have only been together for about 7 months making the cubs arrival a real achievement and celebration for the great team at Mogo Zoo.
