St Georges Basin is proud to be holding its
inaugural Retirement & Lifestyle Expo, which
will be held at the Resort on Saturday, November
29 and Sunday, November 30 2008. What started
off as an idea for an Open Day, quickly turned into
a day so huge we've had to make a weekend of
it.
 The
Expo will be a free two-day event, open to the
public, with a range of stalls, demonstrations and
exhibitions by local businesses & community
groups etc.
Showcasing
the attractions and services of the Shoalhaven
region to people who are considering the area as a
retirement destination.
Residents
from Coastal Waters are planning market stalls,
while we are keen to 'show off' the benefits of
living on the South Coast. What better way to
demonstrate the wonderful range of products and
services that our beautiful region has to offer,
than by inviting local businesses, tourism
operators and community groups to participate in an
Expo - it will be a great opportunity to
collectively showcase everything that's great about
the South Coast.
The focus of the Expo will be the unique lifestyle
the area has to offer and we believe this will be
the first Expo of its kind to be held in our
region, showcasing a variety of leisure pursuits,
local produce and businesses servicing the
area.
 The
Expo will enable visitors to find out more about
travel, gardening and home décor as well as
getting handy tips on a range of topics from
finance to all things organic and environmental.
And of course, there'll be lots of information
relevant to the over 55s.
Visitors to the event will also be able to sample
local wines, take a scenic helicopter flight of the
area and check out vintage cars, 4WD, boating and
model plane demonstrations, just to name a few. It
promises to be an exciting weekend for all
involved.
A sausage sizzle, coffee carts and a variety of
refreshments will be available throughout the
weekend.
There’ll be a range of stalls, demonstrations
and exhibitions by local businesses, tourism
operators and community groups, as well as our own
residents’ annual market day including arts
and crafts, white elephant sale and bric-a-brac.
Something for everybody!
 Your
chance to poke about to your heart’s content;
explore the estate; walk through one of our
luxurious Mediterranean-style villas; sample local
products and services at the market stalls and
exhibits; see The Australian Travelling Fishing
Show; take a scenic helicopter flight; and enjoy
all manner of displays and shows.
We
haven't forgotten the kids…Santa will make an
appearance, there'll be a jumping castle, face
painting and tattoos as well as demonstrations by
Nowra Wildlife Park and the Rural Fire Service.
